Being thankful in 2020

During most “normal years,” T3 Expo employees are road warriors, earning hundreds of miles in the air and thousands of points staying at hotels around the country. The events industry forces all of us out on the road on most days throughout the year.

Many people on the T3 team are usually even traveling on Thanksgiving – sometimes setting up shows like AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas. Many of our employees have become accustomed to being without their families during the holiday or being “on call” for any last minute event needs. But 2020 is not like most years.

Since the landscape is very different this year, we figured we’d check in with our T3 Expo road warriors while they are at home this year to see what they’re thankful for.

Claudine Simard“I am thankful for seeing and doing small acts of kindness. Letting someone cut in a line; holding a door; saying hello and thank you; offering a helping hand; or giving a compliment. It seems more important than ever to try and make someone’s day a little better and I find it comes back to me when I do.”

Brittny Lyons“I am thankful for my health, my husband, my puppy, my family and my job.”

Linda Quinn“I am most thankful for my wonderful family -- especially my awesome husband. He took a very bad situation and turned it around. He re-invented himself so we could put food on the table. He continues to pay the bills and gave me a reason to look forward to the future. I am so thankful to have him in my life!”

Greg McCormack“I would say that I am thankful for a bright side to the pandemic in that I was able to spend more time at home with my wife and dog. I am also thankful that we have potential light at the end of the tunnel.”

Laurel Ryan“I am thankful for being able to spend more time at home with my friends and family.”

Marisa Pacheco“I am thankful for getting to spend more time with my family and for creating stronger bonds. I am also thankful for having T3 as my other family during this time - it’s comforting knowing we are all in this together.”

Tim Heffernan – “I am thankful for T3 being built in the cloud. Buildings don’t move shows in, people do. I am also thankful that I get to spend more time with my daughter and my wife.”

Frank West – “I am thankful for a healthy family, a job I get to go to everyday and everyone at T3 who made that possible. I am thankful for a positive looking future, and a healthy family (worth mentioning twice).”

Velma Louie“I’m thankful for my loving, supportive family and amazing circle of friends. I’m so grateful for people I work with whothat have become such dear friends to me; I cherish every one of them.”

Iraida Lambert – “This year, I am thankful for having a healthy family near and far. I’m also grateful for friends, coworkers, and the reminder that regardless of how difficult life can get, there is always something to be thankful for.”

Tom Malek“I’m thankful for a healthy family, our T3 family, still having a job I love, house wine and side cars, and future opportunity. I am also thankful that T3 Expo never promotes surcharges.”

John D’Amico“I am thankful for the time I have spent with family during this difficult year. I am thankful for still having a job and being able to put food on the table. I am thankful for my dog who is always willing to cuddle when its most needed. I hope we can put aside everything that’s happened and make 2021 the best it can be.”

Jill Burns “I am thankful for my two (2) healthy boys, my boys and family and /friends.  .  I am also thankful that this year is almost over!  I miss my work family and can't wait to get back on the road and see everyone in 2021!"

Catherine Lorenzen “I am thankful to be surrounded by family, friends & coworkers who continue to come together and let creativity shine.”

Laura Burce“I am thankful for neighbors that have become family during these times of no travel, the time I have gotten to spend with my children and the team that I get to work with every day.”
